Bintrail: MySQL Time-Travel Queries Using Indexed Binlogs
Bintrail is a recently introduced layer that brings point-in-time queries and row-history lookups to MySQL, the only major relational database lacking native temporal querying. Using indexed binlogs behind ProxySQL and without modifying MySQL or application code, Bintrail supports querying data as of a past timestamp and reviewing change history, primarily for recovery and audit scenarios. Show HN: Agent.email – sign up via curl, claim with a human OTP
Hi HN! We're Haakam, Michael, and Adi from AgentMail- a ycs25 company. We give AI agents their own email inboxes. Recently, we ran an experiment called Agent.Email. It's a signup flow designed specifically for AI agents instead of humans. The inspiration came from a few comments we received when we did our seed launch a few months back. They all came from the very apt observation that agents not being able to sign up to a product made for agents without human credentials was ironic and unideal. This is basically the thesis we built AgentMail on: The internet was made for humans exclusively, designed to keep machines out by default. Every signup flow assumes a browser, a person reading a page, and clicking a confirmation link. Unless agents can't do that, they can't be first class users of the internet. Agents can now get an email inbox by themselves. (This also means a lot of email nobody wants to read gets processed by AI instead of your inbox being cluttered with spam and slop) Here'

Ursula: thread-per-core, multi-Raft Rust runtime for HTTP event streams
Hi folks, I just open-sourced Ursula, a self-hosted, multi-node server for HTTP event streams built on ElectricSQL's Durable Streams Protocol. Architecture summary: thread-per-core x multi-Raft in-memory hot ring on the write path, S3 as cold tier writes commit at Raft quorum in sub-50ms Architecture: https://ursula.tonbo.io/docs/architecture/overview Benchmark with Raft quorum: 5.9x writes vs the Node.js Durable Streams by official, 5.2x vs S2 Lite 6.1ms p99 SSE fan-out to 1000 subscribers (160x lower than DS reference, 18x lower than S2 Lite) Replication based on multi-Raft quorum mode suffers minimal durability loss compared to S3 Ursula on 3 x c7g.4xlarge, baselines on 1 x c7g.4xlarge. Internships for early university / no former employment
As a rising freshman beginning an undergraduate computer science degree this fall, I wonder what internship opportunities (FOSS preferred) are there, for applicants in early university or who otherwise have no former employment experience (despite, perhaps, contributions to FOSS). Possible template, adapted from previous t/job posts: **Company:** XYZ **Company website:** WWW **Position(s):** ABC **Target applicant pool:** XXX (for example, "graduating in 2030", "any undergraduate pursuing a degree in CS/etc", etc.) **Duration:** XXX **Location:** XXX (please include whether REMOTE worldwide/US/EU/etc or ONSITE) **Description:** XYZ **Tech stack:** ABC **Compensation:** XXX **Contacts:** WWW I think comments other than listings (e.g., advice and such) should also be welcome here!
